There are several international events, where hashers from different groups get together to run and socialize, but the most famous is the biennial Interhash, where hashers from around the world gather.

These usually feature organized pre and post lubes, a Red Dress Run Hash for some local charities just before the main weekend event. The weekend event usually runs Friday night to Sunday. Friday includes an opening ceremony and welcome. 2 days of Hashing follow, usually including a "Ballbuster" extremely long and grueling trail on one or both days. An emcee or emcee team coordinates the introduction of entertainment (live bands and local traditional/ethnic entertainment) and "Hash Acts". The closing ceremony happens Sunday night.

All attendees are given a ballot to vote for 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice among the bidders for the next interhash.

Commemorative T-shirts are usually made for large Hash events, the best collection of images of the for InterHash T-shirts can be found at (http://gotothehash.net/t/hashshirtsih.html)

The Down Down contests

There have been some variations in recent years. In 2008 (Perth) "binge drinking" was banned from the venue, so the down down contest was hastily done during the old farts stroll meaning that many missed out. In 2004 (Cardiff), the competition was done without published announcement, off stage, with a similar missing out by some interested participants and spectators.

Other Large Hash Events

In addition to Interhash, there are also many regional and continental hash events, such as the InterAmericas, InterAfrica, InterGulf?, InterScandi, EuroHash, and PanAsia?. National hash events, or Nash Hashes, primarily bring together hashers from one particular nation, although visitors from other countries are actively welcomed.
